Sema (Specialty Equipment Market Association) has announced that FORD will be the official car manufacturer of theĀ  2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The SEMA show has grown significantly over the past decade with the rise in popularity of such automotive customizers (and their television shows) as

Chip Foose and the late Boyd Coddington. SEMA is a trade show for industry professionals to have the opportunity to either show off their product lines, or for retailers/buyers to make purchases and at least contacts for the coming year. It is not open to the public. Last year was the first time I got to visit and I regretted only having two of the four days SEMA ran to cover the event. Sema is held at the Las Vegas Convention center, and let me tell you that place covers a lot of acreage!
Ford has been a long time supporter of the aftermarket parts industry, and given the Cheverolet Camaro’s official car status in 2008, this year it’s no surprise to me that Ford would want to feature it’s new-for-2010 Mustang.

While Chevy certainly showed off some pretty Camaros lastĀ  year, I was most enthused about the Ford area anyway. The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet capturing my imagination the most. This was followed closely by the Ford Transit van and the Ford Flex.

So I now get to look forward to all kinds of radical 2010 Mustang beauties and concept cars this fall in Vegas. As if last year’s SEMA show didn’t have enough customized Mustangs to keep me drooling all over the Las Vegas Convention center (not to mention finding myself within a few feet of Carrol Shelby himself for a moment).

Be sure to stick around the new brothersperformance blog this November 3rd - 6th during SEMA. There will be updates galore as things progress this year inside and outside the Las Vegas Convention Center.
