2004 Mustang Cobra Convertible in Competition Orange visits Brothers Performance
A Beautiful 2004 Competition Orange Cobra Convertible drove into Brothers Performance parking lot the other day for a quick couple pulls on our Dynojet. The current owner had purchased the car just a couple weeks previous, and while it only had about 20,000 miles on it, he was curious as to how many horses he really had under the hood.
I gotta say, this car is in exceptionally nice condition for being more than five years old! Even considering the low mileage, it looks like this vehicle only saw the streets on it’s way to car shows and drive ins.

Here are some pictures of the car on the dyno (click on any picture for a larger image):
Look at that Supercharger!
Then came the Dyno runs:

You can see the supercharger pulleys turning in this shot.
The owner had to change out the old Catalytic Converters for new California CARB standard cats, so a lot less air flow from the exhaust robbed the car of more than a couple of horses, we’re sure. Otherwise, this car is bone stock like the day it hit the showroom floor.
As we were pulling the car off the dyno, the owner mentioned that he was having to push his seat all the way to the front so that he could push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor to change gears. John suggested a Steeda clutch cable firewall adjuster would most likely take care of the problem… so back into the bay it went, and while it was being raised up on the lift, I took a couple more shots from some unique angles:

This particular one makes a pretty cool desktop wallpaper background on my computer, so I
thought I’d share… right-click on the size you would like for your computer to download it.

Like I said before, it’s an extremely clean car. That undercarriage alone is something to behold!
Notice also the IRS suspension that these cobras had… a no brainer for everyone except Ford Execs, I think.

in less than hour, the car was rolling out of our performance bay with a new firewall adjuster:
