2013 Shelby Mustang GT 500 To Get 5.8L & 600 Horsepower

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
to Have
600-Plus
Horsepower.

A month after the unveiling of the 550-plus-hp 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, rumors have been leaking out that Ford will advance the pony wars with a 2013 Shelby GT500 over 600 horsepower.
Some of these rumors are saying the horsepower could be as high as 620 horses! This the result of boring out the current 5.4-liter V-8 to 5.8 liters and swapping the current Eaton M112 supercharger for the more-efficient and quieter TVS unit. This supercharger has a four-lobe rotors design and is the of choice of Audi’s S4, Cadillac’s CTS-V, Chevrolet’s Corvette ZR1 and the all new Camaro ZL1..
The current 5.4-liter in the recent GT500 already makes 550 hp. The car goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and blasts through the quarter-mile in 12.4. With this new horsepower increase we should see the new 2013 GT500 to be at least a full second quicker on the quarter mile. The current GT500 tops out at 155 mph , whereas the new 2013 GT500 with the all new power and more effiecent supercharger it should be able to carry it to a 190 mph !
The one thing Ford will not change is the rear suspension . The unchanged rear rear end will provide a little livelier feel. The new 2013 GT500 is expected to be released about 10 month after the 2012 ZL1 that is intended to go on sale for in 11 or so months. The estimated cost for the new GT500 with over 600 horsepower is 60,000 so start saving.

Ford Mustang 5.0 Coyote Swap Long Tube Headers From BBK Performance

THE ALL NEW BBK Coyote / Fox Swap Full Length Headers – Are Now Available!
If your latest project involves installing a NEW Ford Coyote 5.0 engine into a Fox body Mustang then BBK has the Headers you will need to complete the installation. The Coyote swap headers are mandrel bent high flow 1 3/4″ tubing with 3″ collectors, making them perfect for both n/a and boosted builds. Space constraints makes fitting a 1 7/8″ header very difficult, especially with the need to accommodate Ford’s chassis revisions over the 25 year span of the Fox chassis. The BBK headers are now available Chrome and Silver Ceramic coated versions. Stainless may be available depending on demand or by special order. To Order Your Set Now CLICK HERE
3″ Matching Short X pipes with or with out converters are also available to connect up to the Cat back Exhaust – Because they are 3 inch you will need a new 3″ Catback exhaust system or modify the stock Catback to fit.
We highly recommend New 3″ Cat Back Exhaust System.

Ford Racing recently threw a party at the Auto Alliance Mustang factory in Flat Rock, MI to celebrate the official delivery of its new ALL New 2012 Mustang Cobra Jet, a vehicle that the company proudly maintains is quickest accelerating production vehicle ever made. Cobra Jet buyers from all over came from as far away as Calgary, Alberta and Puerto Rico to participate in the ceremony and take delivery of their new racecars. All attendees signed a 2012 Mustang Cobra Jet hood that will later be placed on the walls of the production facility. The Cobra Jet isn’t street legal, it’s an out-of-the-box drag racing solution for anyone not interested in taking years to engineer and refine their own racer. New for 2012 is an aluminum-block 5.4-liter V8, a modified suspension, low-drag racing brakes, new black anodized wheels and a stickier set of Goodyear racing slicks. The Cobra Jet can be had with your choice of a 2.3-liter TVS supercharger or a 4.0-liter Ford Racing Whipple supercharger.
