Ford confirms venerable 4.0L V6 dropped from 2011 Mustang
Monday, June 15th, 2009…and that, as it turns out, is a very good thing!
Looks like we won’t have the old SOHC 4.0 Liter V6 to kick around any more. Ford is confirming that the 4.0 Liter will (finally!) be replaced with a higher-reving, higher-horsepower, Duratec 3.7 liter 24-valve, DOHC, all aluminum powerplant starting with the 2011 Mustang models. No further details have been released on the new engine yet, but a a similar Duratec engine has been in use in the flagship Lincoln MKS for a couple of years now. (more…)
